How the Trench 100 Is Built

The Trench 100 ranks the best tokens on any chain every three hours. Here's how tokens are found, scanned, filtered for scams and ranked by TrenchScore.

TRENCHSCORE RESEARCH··3 MIN READ

The Trench 100 is the list on our homepage: the 100 tokens with the strongest combination of momentum, safety, community and market health right now, across every chain we can see. It's rebuilt from scratch every three hours. Here's how, in broad strokes.

//1. Discovery

Every run starts by gathering candidates from public market sources — trending lists, newly listed and fast-growing tokens, promoted tokens and high-volume pools across many chains. A token doesn't need to be on any particular chain or launchpad to be considered. If it's trading and getting attention, it can be found.

//2. A quick market filter

Candidates go through a fast market check. Tokens without a real trading pool, with too little liquidity to trade meaningfully, or that are majors and stablecoins rather than tradeable tokens are set aside. The rest are queued for a full scan.

//3. A full scan of every candidate

Each queued token gets the same deep scan you see on any token page:

  • Market: liquidity, volume, trading activity and price action across timeframes.
  • Contract: the security checks that apply to its chain.
  • Holders: concentration, dev holdings and, where available, wallet networks.
  • Community: socials, community size where measurable, and promotion signals.

The result is a full report and a TrenchScore.

//4. Confirmed scams are dropped

Before ranking, any token with a critical safety failure is removed — no matter how well it scores elsewhere. Think honeypots, hidden owners, active mint or freeze authority on a memecoin, extreme taxes and similar confirmed traps. Missing data alone doesn't remove a token; it just scores lower.

//5. Ranked by TrenchScore

The survivors are ranked by TrenchScore and the top 100 make the list. Because momentum, community and holder expectations are judged against a token's age, fresh launches with genuine traction can rank alongside established tokens.

//6. Live between runs

The ranking itself holds for three hours, but the market columns — price, market cap, liquidity, volume and 24h change — update every minute. The stats strip at the top of the homepage shows when the list was ranked and when the next run lands.

//Ways to view the list

  • Top 100: the ranking.
  • Hot: sorted by momentum.
  • Community: sorted by the community pillar.
  • Safest: sorted by contract safety.
  • Newest: most recently launched first.
  • Volume: most traded in 24 hours.

You can also filter by chain from the sidebar (or the chain chips on mobile).

//What we keep private

We describe the process openly but keep the specifics — exact sources, thresholds and weights — to ourselves. If those were public, getting into the list would become a matter of hitting the numbers rather than earning them.

//A ranking, not a recommendation

Making the Trench 100 means a token looked strong at scan time. It's a shortlist for your own research, not a buy signal. Open any token for its full report, and run the due diligence checklist before you trade. Not financial advice.

//Frequently asked questions

How often is the Trench 100 updated?+

The ranking is rebuilt every three hours. Market data on the list — price, market cap, liquidity, volume and 24h change — refreshes every minute.

Which chains are included in the Trench 100?+

Any chain. Candidates are gathered from public market sources across many chains, and each token is scanned with the checks available for its chain.

Can I pay to get into the Trench 100?+

No. Paid promotion elsewhere is shown openly on each row, but the ranking is decided by the scan and the TrenchScore. Tokens with confirmed scam signals are excluded regardless.

Educational content, not financial advice. Crypto assets are highly risky and most new tokens lose most of their value — always do your own research.
