How to Research Any Token with TrenchScore (Step by Step)

Paste a contract address, read the report. A walkthrough of every part of a TrenchScore token page — score, chart, bubblemap, holders, audit, community and market.

TRENCHSCORE RESEARCH··3 MIN READ

TrenchScore turns the checks in our due diligence checklist into one page. Here's how to use it, from search to verdict.

//1. Search the token

Click the search bar at the top of any page (or press /). Paste a contract address for an exact match, or type a name or ticker to see every match across chains. Each result shows the chain, contract, liquidity, market cap, volume and age, so you can tell the real token from a copycat at a glance. Tokens we've already analysed show their TrenchScore right in the results; anything in the Trench 100 shows its rank.

//2. First scan (only once)

If nobody has checked a token before, TrenchScore scans it live and shows each step as it runs — market data, holders, wallet networks, contract audit, community. It takes a few seconds. The report is then saved, so it opens instantly for everyone after that, and refreshes in the background when it gets old. Prices on the page are always live.

//3. Read the header

The top of the page shows the token's name, chain, DEX, contract (tap to copy), socials, launch age, live price and 24h change — plus the TrenchScore and its tier. If the token is in the Trench 100, you'll see its rank badge.

//4. The TrenchScore panel

The TrenchScore is a 0–100 summary across five pillars — momentum, contract safety, community, holder health and market — with a short list of the most important signals, good and bad. Read the signals, not just the number: a 70 with a warning about dev selling is different from a 70 with no warnings.

//5. The chart

Live candles with selectable timeframes. Young tokens default to tight candles so you can see the launch; older ones zoom out.

//6. Bubblemap and top holders

The bubblemap shows the largest holders and, on Solana, which wallets are connected into clusters. The holders list labels pools, burns, lockers, creators and insiders so you can see which big wallets can actually sell. Guides: how to read a bubblemap and how to read top holders.

//7. Contract audit

Pass, warn or fail for each check that applies to the chain — honeypot simulation, mint and freeze authority, ownership, proxy, hidden owner, taxes, blacklist, liquidity lock, dev holdings and more. Any critical failure means the token can't enter the Trench 100.

//8. Community

X, Telegram (with member count where available) and website, plus DEX paid status, boosts and trending placements. See DEX paid, boosts and ads for how to read promotion.

//9. Market

Liquidity, market cap, FDV, volume and buys vs sells across timeframes. See why liquidity matters and buy/sell pressure.

//10. Score breakdown

At the bottom of the page, the breakdown shows each metric that fed the score with how it scored, so you can see exactly why a token landed where it did.

//What TrenchScore can't do for you

It can't read the vibe of a Telegram chat, judge a meme, or know what the team does tomorrow. Use the report to rule tokens out fast, then spend your time on the ones that pass. And remember: TrenchScore never asks you to connect a wallet.

New here? The homepage and token pages both have a quick guided tour — look for the Tour button to replay it any time.

//Frequently asked questions

Is TrenchScore free?+

Yes. Searching tokens, reading reports and browsing the Trench 100 are free and don't require a wallet or an account.

Which chains does TrenchScore support?+

Any chain with DEX trading can be searched. Contract audits are available on Solana and the major EVM chains, including Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Arbitrum.

Why does a token take a few seconds to load the first time?+

The first time anyone checks a token, TrenchScore scans it live — market data, holders, wallet networks, contract audit and community. The report is then saved so it opens instantly afterwards.

Educational content, not financial advice. Crypto assets are highly risky and most new tokens lose most of their value — always do your own research.
